Cairo International Film Festival Announces Dates for its 47th Edition
Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), presided over by renowned actor Hussein Fahmy, announces the dates for its upcoming 47th edition, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 20, 2026.
In this context, CIFF President Hussein Fahmy extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, led by Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, valuing its generous sponsorship and unwavering support, which serves as the true guarantee for the festival’s success and its continued leadership in the Arab and African cultural landscape.
Fahmy also specifically thanked all strategic partners, sponsors, and supporting institutions, both local and international, as well as the media entities that have carried the responsibility of conveying the festival’s cultural message. He further expressed his gratitude to the filmmakers, directors, producers, technical teams, and jury members who contributed significantly to shaping the previous editions and maintaining the festival’s high artistic standing.
On his part, Mohamed Tarek, the Festival’s Artistic Director, emphasized that the audience remains the compass and ultimate goal for everything the team delivers, sending a special salute to cinema goers and their burning passion. Tarek revealed that the past edition achieved unprecedented numbers, with ticket sales reaching 45,000, marking a qualitative leap with an increase of 5,000 tickets compared to the previous year. He expressed the artistic management’s ambition to double these numbers and welcome even broader segments of the audience in the upcoming edition.
Cairo International Film Festival looks forward to welcoming its guests and audience to the 47th edition, continuing to be a meeting point for creativity and a beacon for cinema, as it has been since its founding in 1976.
