Businessman: Mohamed Ahmed Taryam The Founder and CEO of “Al Watanyah Group for Real Estate”, Emirate of Sharjah

• The leadership of the UAE has made a development miracle that we all boast about all over the whole world

The story of our guest today began here on the soil of Sharjah. He is the son of one of the biggest families in Sharjah that have their significant contributions in the different cultural, economic and social arenas. Our guest is Emirati businessman, Mohamed Ahmed Taryam, the chairman of board of Al watanyah Group for Real Estate, which has become a national corporation managing scores of properties and offering comprehensive services through a number of companies.  

-Please tell us about your life and your upbringing? What are the values you acquired during your childhood and which have contributed to your success in the business world? How was your beginning? Who supported you? And what were the opportunities you had?

When I talk about the beginning of life and my success, which I reached with a grace from Allah, I clearly remember two pillars in my life which guaranteed my success in the world of business and investment. The first was being brought up on the soil of the UAE and my affiliation to this generous state under its wise leadership “ May Allah protect it”, especially that we all see that the inspiring environment of this country is attracting investors and huge companies from all over the world to come and start their investments in it. In short, it is a state that inspires everyone to succeed.

Thanks to Allah, my father had a long- term vision as he was very keen ever since my childhood to make me accompany him in order to learn the secrets of investments. My father, May Allah rest his soul, was a very significant and successful businessman. I was his eldest son and thus I was very fortunate to keep his company and learn from his multiple experiences. I followed his footsteps in the business world since I was only a young man. In fact, credibility was the most important value I acquired from my father at an early age. According to my father, credibility is the basis of success in the business world and that deception and lying are the qualities of the failed businessman. He also taught me dedication as I used to see him doing his best in all his projects.

I’d like to affirm here that my father supported me during my childhood to help me find a foothold on the road to success in the complicated business and investment world. I remember that during his 9-year long illness I had to manage his businesses and properties. I was only 21 years old. After his death I began my own business and companies at the time when I continued managing the properties and investments of the family. Had it not been for the multiple experiences I went through and my father’s existence in my life I would have never succeeded or overcome the challenges I had at that early age. Now with every successful step I take I remember my dear father, May Allah rest his soul.

-In your opinion how could Sharjah achieve it success on the road to development?

First of all, if we are going to talk about Sharjah, we have to admit that Allah has bestowed upon it an exceptional leadership that could make a real development miracle and a great civilizational shift, it is his highness Dr, Sultan Bin Mohamed al-Qasimi,the sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and the member of the Federal Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates. He has turned Sharjah into a scientific melting pot with his directives to establish high-level universities and institutes. Through his visions, his Highness, may Allah protect him, has turned the Emirate of Sharjah into a cultural beacon which was later announced as the capital of the Arabic culture. Several sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah have achieved remarkable successes,especially the Industrial one and more particularly of Transformative industries sector that contributes the biggest share of the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Sharjah. There is also the great development that occurred in the tourist domain and particularly the eco-tourism, especially that Sharjah has all the resources required for the development of the tourist sector. This also was accompanied by the development of the sectors of aviation, sea transport and the transport through the different ports. This is in addition to the growth of Sharjah’s trade with the outside world, the successful promotion of the emirate as well as the facilitations it offers to the foreign investments, the matter which helped it assume a good position at all levels. 

-We need to know more about Al watanyah Group.  What are its targets in the real estate domain in the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular?

Al watanyah Group was established with the aim to effectively contribute to the development of the real estate management sector in Sharjah and the UAE in general. It also aims to create new concepts and attract world-class practices to this sector. This is in addition to offering the best services either to tenants, landlords or even the real estate developers.

Therefore, the group was keen to start from where the others in the developed countries ended in the real estate services sector. Thus, we always seek to adopt the best administrative and real estate managing methods and standards applied in the developed countries and strengthenthe strategic partnership channels, whether with government bodies or similar entities, to improve our expertise and qualify our cadres in the group, and this is due to our conviction that the real estate sector is witnessing rapid developments every day. Also,we do not hesitate to provide our clients with recommendations and advice in order to help them take the right leasing or buying decisions.

We can say that the goals of  Al watanyah Group for Real Estate include several messages on top of which comes the satisfaction of our clients, especially that we are fully aware of their needs. -How can you explain the recent expansions in the maintenance services you offer? 

We adopt a comprehensive approach to guarantee offering the highest quality to our clients at the lowest prices and costs. The Companies of the group include the parent company namely “Al watanyah for the Real Estate Management” under which falls “the Restoration House for Maintenance”. This helps achieve the best standards as regards the maintenance of the properties and the development of the real estate management. The new company, which was established in 2018, is considered an expansion of the business of the group in Dubai especially after the great successes we made in Sharjah that led the companies of Al watanyah Group to be among the largest pioneering companies that offer the best services in the Real Estate sector in Sharjah and the UAE in general.
